Louisiana Insurance Panel Discussion

LMLA is fortunate to have some of the top ranking Senior Executives in the Louisiana Insurance Industry join us for a moderated panel discussion to explain the current state of Insurance in Louisiana. They’ll be discussing the accomplishments of the 2024 Legislative Session and the work that is left to do moving forward in order to bring forth much needed reform and relief to our state.  


Ben Albright, CEO, Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Louisiana

Ben Albright is the CEO of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Louisiana (IIABL). The mission of IIABL, working in the public interest, is to be the unrelenting advocate for the success of member agencies by meeting their educational, political, and business needs.

 

 

Clyde Bohne – State Board  of PIA Governmental Affairs Committee

Clyde J. Bohne III is a proud alumnus of Louisiana State University, Bohne holds a degree in General Studies with a versatile array of minors in History, Political Science, and Philosophy. His academic foundation laid the groundwork for his multifaceted approach to professional endeavors.  In 2009, Bohne started in Financial Services, joining MetLife’s agency, Creative Solutions-98J. Here, he honed his skills in selling life, health, property and casualty, and investment accounts, concurrently pursuing and achieving his LUTCF designation.  In 2016, the transition occurred as MetLife sold their agency system to Mass Mutual. Undeterred, Bohne established his own agency, Preferred Insurance Agency of Louisiana, LLC.  His dedication to the insurance industry extends beyond entrepreneurial ventures. Bohne’s active involvement includes past service as a Baton Rouge board member of PIA of Louisiana, alongside his current role on the State Board of PIA. Currently, he chairs the state association’s Governmental Affairs Committee.  Passionate about legislative developments, Bohne eagerly anticipates the positive implications of recently passed laws, viewing them as instrumental in revitalizing Louisiana’s auto and home insurance marketplace.  Beyond his professional pursuits, Bohne is happily married to Ms. Kelly Forster Bohne, and together, they cherish moments spent raising their beloved chocolate labs, Rudy and River, and indulging in the tranquility of fishing outings at their camp in Dulac, Louisiana.

 

Chuck Myers – Deputy Commissioner, Office of Property & Casualty, Louisiana Department of Insurance 

CHUCK MYERS serves as the Deputy Commissioner for the Louisiana Department of Insurance – Office of Property and Casualty. Chuck’s professional background includes: 8 years with the Virginia Bureau of Insurance as Manager of the Real Estate Settlement Agents Investigations Section and 7+ years with the Virginia State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation as a Special Agent Accountant and Certified Crime Scene Analyst. Chuck has 38 years of insurance industry experience, a master’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the Florida State University and holds designations as a: Senior Professional in Insurance Regulation, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and Certified Fraud Examiner.
