In this moderated panel discussion, you will hear from a notable group of local Title Attorneys discussing the implications across Louisiana for Lenders as the National Association of Realtors Settlement Agreement takes effect locally.
Ronny J. Champlin, President, Champlin Title, Inc.
Ronny J. Champlin was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association in 1981 and subsequently acquired his license as a Louisiana title insurance agent. Since then, he has devoted his practice to real estate with a focus on residential and commercial transactions. In 1991, Ronny created Champlin Title, Inc. and remains the President. A native of Jonesville, Louisiana, he has been a resident of Baton Rouge since he received his B.S. degree in Real Estate from Louisiana State University (1975). After selling real estate as a sales manager and broker, he received a Juris Doctorate degree from the Southern University School of Law (1981). Ronny’s memberships and associations include: Louisiana State Bar Association, Baton Rouge Bar Association, American Land Title Association, Louisiana Association of Independent Land Title Agents –(Board Member/Founding Charter Member), Baton Rouge Independent Title Attorneys – (2015-16 President), Greater Baton Rouge Realtors Association, Greater Baton Rouge Mortgage Lenders Association, Louisiana Mortgage Lenders Association
Brent J. Laliberte, Bayou Title, Inc.
Brent J. Laliberte graduated from UNO in 1987 with B.S. in Finance. He graduated from Loyola University School of Law is 1993 with a J.D. in Civil Law. He was admitted to the bar in October 1993. In the 31 years that he has been practicing law he has handled over 25,000 closings and has examined in excess of 75,000 titles. He and his wife Kathy opened Bayou Title in November 1999, and it has since grown to become the largest title agency in the state, with 20 locations. We also have 1 location in Mississippi. He is the President and Board Member of the Louisiana Land Title Association (LLTA). He is the Founder, President and Board member of the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Title Attorneys (NOMATA). Brent also serves as Secretary on the American Land Title Association (ALTA) Agents Section Executive Committee. Brent was the recipient of the 2014 LLTA “Title Person of the Year” award, and he is only person in the State of Louisiana to hold the prestigious ALTA National Title Professional (NTP) designation.
CHAD F. REYNOLDS, Attorney at Law, Legacy Title, Owner
Chad F. Reynolds was born and raised in Baton Rouge. He is a graduate of Woodlawn High School, Louisiana State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and History, and a Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. He was admitted to Louisiana State Bar in 1998. Before opening Legacy Title in 2002, Chad practiced extensively in Successions, Wills & Trusts and Real Estate. He is married to Julie and they have two children, Ashley and Grant. Chad is very active in his community and church as he is a Past President and Member of the East Baton Rouge Lions Club, as well as Past President, Current Member and Board Member of the St. Jude Parish Men’s Club. Chad has also served as President and Board Member of the St. Jude The Apostle Catholic School Advisory Council. Chad is also an alumni of the Delta Chi Fraternity, Louisiana State University. Chad is also proud to be an Eagle Scout.
